About us
The Amsterdam6shooters are a friendly and open wargame club in Amsterdam, established in 2014. We meet every Thursday evening and most weekends — alternating Saturday and Sunday afternoons — at our clubhouse near Muiderpoort station in Amsterdam-East, from 13:00–18:00 (or later). We focus on miniature wargaming and tactical board wargames. We’re a social club for social gamers. Minimum age is 16. We laugh, have fun, throw dice, drink beer and conquer lands. We have armies. We have scenery. You can wargame against us even if you don’t have miniatures of your own. Tactical instinct is the only thing you really need.
We’re not a youth club. The majority of our members are 25 or older and have been playing wargames for years. We have about 100 members, roughly 75 regulars and 25 irregular visitors.
The games we play
The club has two equally active branches that play happily side by side.
On one half of our tables you’ll find historical wargamers covering everything from Ancient battles to WW2 — playing Black Powder, Sharp Practice, Bolt Action, Chain of Command, Mortem & Gloriam, and more. We have extensive figure collections at the club, so you don’t need your own army to join a game.
On the other half, Warhammer 40K and Kill Team. We have a large and enthusiastic 40K community, run regular tournaments, and welcome new and experienced players alike — including the many international players who have found their wargaming home with us.
We also occasionally play dungeon crawlers with miniatures like Zombicide or Imperial Assault, and board wargames like Command & Colours or Memoir ’44.

Cheap fun — join the club!
Membership fee is €50 per calendar year (€25 club fee + €25 neighbourhood association). Non-members who join a table pay nothing the first time, €2 the second time, and the regular €8 entrance fee after that.
If you just want to look around, we charge nothing. We serve free lunch and snack food, and our bar is cheap — almost all drinks under €2. Bringing your own drinks is not allowed. Come and beat us, and if you can’t beat us — join us!
